1 – New generation materials in modern bathtubs
Technology has evolved enormously, allowing us to obtain new materials that surpass traditional ones in terms of quality. New generation materials, such as engineered stone – a composite of natural stone and resin – have become the key materials for fitting out bathrooms. These materials are technologically more advanced, with non-slip, resistance, durability, ease of cleaning and antibacterial properties, among many others. This is the case of Dolotek®, the material formed by resin and dolomite stone, which makes it possible to mould high-performance products into complex shapes resulting in a white, soft-touch surface.
2 – Stylish bathrooms
Design is one of the decisive factors when purchasing a free-standing bathtub. Its mere presence adds character to the room as it has great decorative power. As for the shape, the possibilities are endless: choose one that follows the line of style that encompasses the bathroom and, of course, fits your personality. If you are looking for minimalist freestanding bathtubs, where smooth and elegant lines predominate, you have ample options, such as the Levi, Vars or Lech free-standing bathtubs. If you prefer a bathtub in a more complex shape, go for the sculptural Venet or Chrea bathtubs. All of them belong to Acquabella’s Acquawhite collection.
3 – Easy installation and maintenance
Modern bathtubs can also be distinguished from the old bathtubs by their ease of installation. Freestanding bathtubs, i.e., that are not built into any wall or corner and with free space around them in the form of an island, have become popular in the world of interior design. This is why the installation of a freestanding bathtub (also known as an island bathtub or free-standing bathtub) does not require time-consuming construction work and can be placed anywhere. In addition, materials such as resin and stone are much easier to maintain: their non-porous material is easy to clean and, in case of damage to the surface, it can be easily repaired, leaving it as good as new and extending its useful life in perfect condition.
4 – Bathtub dimensions and bath size
The most common sizes of bathtubs usually range between 70-90 cm in width and 140-180 cm in length, although 80 x 160 cm are more comfortable, which makes us think about space requirements. Due to its large dimensions, the installation of a bathtub requires a large space in which to be located. On the other hand, if you have a small bathroom, the installation of a bathtub is not recommended, since this element will become a hindrance, not an ally.
5 – Modern bathtub faucets
Along with bathtubs, faucets are also experiencing a golden age. The design of these faucets flees from traditional shapes to embrace a contemporary and elegant style, becoming one more decorative element. There are faucets of all types and finishes, although in recent years we have seen how gold bathroom faucets have earned their position as a design trend. It also combines perfectly with the white free-standing bathtubs, whose free-standing faucet option is the perfect complement to create an ambience that exudes calm and style.
